Funerals

Vivienne Hyndman Licensed Humanist Celebrant Scottish Funeral Memorial Scotland Comrie Crieff Perth Perthshire Fife Glasgow

“It is a privilege and honour to be requested by family and friends to write and deliver a Humanist Ceremony.”

I work very closely with a family and or friends to deliver a personal and warm tribute in celebration of a life no matter what the circumstances.

Following a family meeting, either in person or online I will prepare and write a draft ceremony and then liaise with those concerned until the ceremony is just right.

The art of listening well is central to the creation of a ceremony which is personal and meaningful to the family and friends of the deceased.

Funeral ceremonies can be conducted at a Crematorium, Funeral Parlour, at a graveside or natural woodland cemetery.  I also work with families to conduct Memorial ceremonies for a loved one, which might be held at a later date.

What is a Humanist Ceremony ?

A Humanist Funeral Ceremony, will not include Hymns or Religious prayers however there will be opportunity for music at various points during the ceremony which will be very personal to those attending.  Non-religious readings and poetry are often read at Humanist Ceremonies and a Celebrant can help with ideas or suggestions for these.

The ceremony may be delivered by the Celebrant or by a combination of Celebrant, family members and friends.  Each ceremony is unique and created with warmth and creativity.

A Humanist Ceremony will not be religious in tone or content but will always aim to be inclusive and respectful towards those who do have differing beliefs.

How can you book me ?

I will often be contacted by a Funeral Director on behalf of a family/friends to conduct a Humanist Ceremony.  Alternatively I can be contacted directly through the Humanist Society Scotland, via my Website or Celebrant Facebook page.
